History of Coffee In Nepal Coffee & Nepal

Despite the fact that Nepal's coffee culture dates back to 1938, it wasn't until the 1980s that farmers and business owners began to take an interest in it, and ever since then, Nepalese have embraced it.

The growing culture and the rising demand for Himalayan coffee in the world inspired us to take steps in this industry back over two decades ago.

Nepal, a new coffee-producing nation, has an exceptional flavor of high-altitude coffee cultivated in the Himalayas that is unmatched anywhere else in the world.

Where it All beganOur Journey

We have experienced that coffee cultivation is a demanding discipline. It requires a lot of patience, careful preparation, and committed work. And farming at an elevation of 1000–1600 meters in the Himalayas is an adventure in itself. To support this journey of Royal Nepal Coffee Co in promoting authentic Himalayan coffee, we have every farmer working with us to offer the best coffee in the market.

What We HarvestThe Arabica green beans

We harvest coffee cherries (Arabica green beans) from trees using hand-picking methods, ensuring only the uniform, ripest, and most flavorful cherries ever make their way into a cup of coffee.
The individual beans are separated from the hand-picked coffee cherries using a mechanical depulper, and then they are steeped for one to three days in huge water tanks with fresh snow-melt water. The washed & dried beans are packed, trucked to port cities, and then shipped to roasters all over the world after they are dry.

What We OFFERWhy Our Coffee

The most common type of coffee grown in Nepal is Arabica coffee and generally the Caturra, Typica & Bourbon.
At Royal Nepal Coffee Co, we produce the Caturra, Typica & Bourbon. We are a quality-driven brand known for the exceptional taste and flavor of our coffee in the market. Since our coffee can be traced back to its original source (Helvetas Coffee Promotion Nepal), you can learn more about the true story behind your cup of coffee and why it's important to support the growers of it.
Royal Nepal Coffee Co is dedicated to assisting growers and their communities in order to help them prosper and get past the many challenges that come with residing and working in one of the world's least developed nations.

Traceable and organic
and fair trade

We employ sustainable coffee-growing practices, which include offering desperately needed employment opportunities, paying fair wages, providing safe working conditions, encouraging reforestation, and empowering people (especially women and vulnerable populations). We exclusively supply you with the world's most prized and coveted organic coffees from the Himalayas, which are also the rarest, finest, and most aromatic. We cultivate connections with the growers that share our dedication to delivering you coffee that is healthy for the environment, people, and animals.

Facilitating
Women Empowerment

We are emphasizing employing more local Nepalese women from marginalized communities. About 80% of the people involved in farming are not farmers, and we are primarily encouraging the local Nepalese women to work with us.
We maintain long-term relationships with farmers and provide fair wages to ensure that our women can have a decent income. We also organize training to enhance the skills of women. We are also helping women by educating them not just on the technical aspects of farming but also to make them independent by taking decisions on their own. In addition, we have been effectively empowering women in the coffee industry to contribute to the expansion of the coffee industry in Nepal.
